Less swiping.
More meeting.

Actually is for Zurich singles nursing a dating-app hangover — the ghosting, the one-foot-out-the-door energy, and the grass-is-greener scroll that convinces you someone better is always one swipe away.

We're not trying to give you more people to choose from. We're building a small, vetted community — curated dinners, gatherings, and introductions where you might actually meet someone real.

Why now

The apps aren't broken. They're just not built to end.

78%

of dating-app users report feeling burned out, per recent industry surveys.

40%

of that burnout traces back to one thing: a lack of meaningful connection, not a lack of options.

+175%

year-over-year growth in people searching for real-life community over another app.

Figures are industry surveys, not Actually's own data yet — you'd be one of the first to help me find out if the alternative holds up.

The host

On a mission to cure the dating-app hangover.

I've felt this frustration first-hand. I've dated across big cities, swiped through all of it, and came away with more disappointment than connection. But it wasn't only my own experience that convinced me something was broken — wherever I've traveled, I've had the same conversation, almost word for word, with singles from completely different countries and backgrounds: the apps are driving them crazy.

It's part of something bigger, too. We're spending more time online, more time on social media, and less time building the kind of community that used to make meeting people easy — so real-life connection has quietly gotten harder, not easier, even as the apps promise the opposite.

That's what convinced me to build something different — a way back to real, in-person connection, without the baggage of a profile shaping someone's first impression of you before you've even met. No bio to write, no photos to curate, no algorithm deciding who's worth your time. Just a small, vetted community — dinners, activities, real conversations — brought together by someone who has actually thought it through. That's what Actually is for.

How it works

Three steps. No profile to optimize.

01

Vibe check

Before anything else, we talk properly — about half an hour, in person or by call. Not a form, not a five-question quiz. Who you are, what hasn't worked, what you're actually looking for, and what you're into — so I can organize gatherings that actually fit you.

02

Curated gatherings

Dinners, activities, and member evenings with a small group I've personally vibe-checked — never a swipe, never a big anonymous mixer, never a cringe icebreaker. Just a real community, doing things worth showing up for, with people I already know are worth your time.

03

A growing circle

Stay as long as it's good for you. Every so often, if I sense a real spark between two members, I'll introduce you myself. And members who click often bring someone they trust into the fold — that's how this grows, not through open sign-ups.

Founding membership

Join before Actually is a finished company.

Actually is starting as a small, hands-on community in Zurich — not a polished club yet. Founding members shape who's in the room and meet each other at curated dinners and activities, month to month, with no contract to break if it's not for you. In return, I'm asking you to help me prove there's something real here.

The honest FAQ

Is this a real, operating club yet?

Honestly — not yet. Actually is me, testing whether this is worth building properly. Founding members are the first real members, not beta testers of an app.

How do you vet people?

Every founding member goes through a personal vibe-check conversation with me — not a form — plus a background check, before joining. No one's added to the community without that conversation happening first.

What if I don't click with anyone?

There's no guarantee of a specific outcome — this is a community, not an introductions service. But every gathering is small and curated, so you're never just a face in a crowd, and members who don't find a match often make real friends instead. That's not a consolation prize; it's part of the point.

Is there a fee to apply?

No. Applying and the vibe-check conversation are completely free — I'm not charging you to have a conversation with me. Membership starts at CHF 29/month once you're actually in, and you can cancel anytime.

Do you ever introduce people directly?

Sometimes, yes. The community and the gatherings are the core of Actually — but if I get to know two members and genuinely believe there's something there, I'll say so and make the introduction myself, the way a good friend would. It's not something you can request or a box you tick on a form; it's a judgment call I make occasionally, on top of everything else. Never a guarantee, never automated.

Is my information private?

It's used only to get to know you and vet the community, never sold or shared with third parties, and deleted on request — in line with Swiss data protection law (FADP).

Is this only for people in Zurich?

For the founding membership, yes — Zurich and easy commuting distance, so gatherings are logistically realistic. That may widen as Actually grows.
